A method of determining the rank order of jobs based on the value judgments of an individual, or a panel of evaluators. In each case the objective is to obtain a job hierarchy the evaluators feel is fair.

Can be used on a ‘whole job’ basis, factor by factor basis, or some combination of the two. However, schemes of this type which are exclusively based on the ‘whole job’ approach are unlikely to be accepted as means of striking out an equal value claim.
